Freight class for toys

Cartoned toys typically rate class 125 - 175 (4 - 8 pcf); dense die-cast or boxed board games can reach class 100.

Why toys rate where they do

Toys are light freight in big retail boxes: most cartoned toy pallets measure 4 - 8 pcf, class 125 - 175. Dense subsets - die-cast metal, board games, wooden toys - can climb to 8 - 10 pcf and class 100.

Worked example. A tall pallet of cartoned toys: 48 × 40 × 60 in, 620 lb. That is 66.7 cu ft and 620 lb → 9.30 pcf → class 100. Run your own numbers →

What moves the number

Seasonal surge shipping is where toy freight gets expensive: rushed pallet builds with mixed carton sizes measure badly. Uniform cartons, tight tiers, no overhang - the basics are worth a full class here.
